Lube & Fuel Replacement Filter Elements Purifarr 10"
Clean engine fluid and fuel are more critical than ever to protect today's diesel engines from premature wear. Parker filtration solutions form a first line of defense to remove the contaminants that build up during storage and transfer of engine fluids, providing enhanced protection to injectors as well as the other sensitive components within the lubricating system.
The Parker Farr PuriFarr 400 and 400HE (10”) replacement filter elements provide significantly enhanced removal of the fine contaminants that are the most damaging to diesel engines. The PuriFarr 400 and 400 HE also provide superior wear protection to power assemblies, electronic fuel injection (EFI) systems and other components. The PuriFarr element fits a wide range of fuel, lube oil and wayside applications, reducing filter inventory requirements, and saving overall costs.
The dual-stage design of the PuriFarr contains several times the media area of conventional single-stage filters, for greater efficiency, added dirt-holding capacity, and longer service life. Dual-stage filtration found in Parker's 10” elements also ensures removal of various sized contaminants, reaching efficiencies as high as 99%. The steel inner core allows the PuriFarr element to operate at a very low pressure drop, resulting in longer filter life and more efficient operation.
The PuriFarr features enhanced pleat stability. Competitive filters, which use shell wrap alone, do not have this pleat stabilizing feature. Studies have shown that pleat stability is critical to filter life and performance.
Field tests have shown that Parker elements provide a full 184 day service interval to railroads, and even longer life in other higher horsepower applications. Engineering studies show that microfine contaminants in the 1-10 micron range are the most damaging to diesel engines. The PuriFarr 400 is rated as a 10 micron filter, offering effective removal of fine contaminants. When even finer filtration is required, the PuriFarr 400 HE delivers very high efficiencies on particles below 1 micron. Developed to answer more stringent demands from O.E.M.s, the PuriFarr 400 HE protects today's newest EFI systems which operate under extremely high pressures.
Both models feature a unique multiple-piece design pioneered by Parker Farr. The 10” filter element breaks down into two or three sections after use, for increased safety, maintenance ease, and reduced weight. Weighing less than 30 lbs each when saturated, the used element sections are easy to remove and carry. An exclusive scalloped end pan, eliminates fluid spillage during change out and enhances flow around the filter.
Applications:
• Lube oil systems in GE and EMD locomotives, standby diesel generator sets and marine engines
• Fuel systems in GE and EMD locomotives, diesel generator sets and marine engines
• Diesel fueling stations for railroad, marine, truck, off highway and other diesel fleets
Features and Benefits:
• The two-piece filter element offers maintenance ease and safety.
• Element fits a wide range of fuel and lube oil applications, reducing filter inventory while increasing availability
• Patented Quick-change Lid on the filter bowl is easily opened without tools for rapid servicing
• Two stages of pleated media hold four to eight times more dirt than leading single-stage filters, for longer element life. PuriFarr provides a full 184 day service interval to railroads, and even longer life in other higher horsepower applications.
• Dual-stage filtration also ensures more complete removal of all size contaminants, reaching efficiencies as high as 99+% much greater than the 40% efficiency of most single stage filters.
• Enlarged steel inner core allows the PuriFarr element to operate at very low pressure drop. The result: longer filter life and more
